Learn how to connect Classy fundraising integration with Fondi

Overview

This guide will help you connect your Classy campaign to your Fondi virtual event. When you connect a campaign to an event, Fondi will sync over any registrations you have in Classy and keep them up to date in Fondi as RSVPs to your virtual event.

Data that is synced to Fondi includes:

  • Campaign Registrations

  • Campaign Stats (e.g. name, goal, total raised)

  • Completed Transactions (to show virtual attendees who has donated)

  • Individual & Team Fundraisers (to show in leaderboards)

Getting Started

Step 1: Create your campaign in Classy

You've likely already done this, but if not - create the campaign you'd like to host a virtual event or fundraiser for in Classy and begin taking registrations. You can connect to Fondi at any point during the duration of your campaign.

Step 2: Sign up for Fondi and create your Event

If you haven't created an organization and event in Fondi yet, go ahead and sign up. Create the virtual event that you'll want to sync to your campaign -- you'll probably want to name your event the same as your campaign to make it easy to keep track of.

Step 3: Connect your Classy organization to your Fondi organization

Next up, let's connect the Fondi & Classy Integration.

Within your Classy organization, click on "Apps & Extensions" in the left sidebar. Then click "Classy API".

Once in the Classy API section, you'll want to create a new app. Enter the following information and then click "Create App":

Your application is now created. Next, you'll want to scroll down on the page and click "Edit" by the application you just created.

You're now viewing the details of the application you created. There are 3 pieces of information that you'll need to copy and paste into Fondi to complete the setup process:

  1. Client ID - This is a unique ID that helps Fondi tell Classy what information it's trying to access

  2. Client Secret - This is your app's password. Fondi needs it to authenticate with Classy.

  3. Classy Organization ID - You can access this from your browser's address bar.

Back in Fondi, while viewing your organization, click on Integrations in the left sidebar. You'll see a list of integrations. Scroll to the Classy integration and click "Connect".

Copy and paste the three values we mentioned earlier (Client ID, Client Secret and Classy Organization ID) into the corresponding fields on Fondi. Click "Connect".

Step 4: Map your Classy campaigns to your Fondi events

Now, you need to tell Fondi what Classy campaigns you want to map to which Fondi events. Click the "Settings" button by the Classy integration.

Select a campaign and the corresponding event you want registrations to sync to. Then click "Add Mapping". Rinse and repeat for however many campaigns you want to map.

Voila! Your Classy campaign's registrations will now sync to Fondi every 10 minutes. You can always go back into the integration settings and click "Sync Registrations" to force sync your registrations over. You can also change or remove the mapping, as desired.

Step 5: Send out your Fondi event's registration page URL to your registrants

Now that your registrations are syncing over, you can focus on the fun part of customizing your virtual event on Fondi. This includes adding your branding and configuring your agenda, speakers, sponsors, expo and other items.

When attendees arrive at your registration page, if they haven't registered yet they'll be linked to your Classy campaign page to register -- or if they have registered already via Classy they can use the same email they registered with to access your event.

Good to know:

  • A single Classy campaign can only be mapped to one event

  • When a Fondi event is synced to a Classy campaign, the event will be forced to "RSVP" mode (instead of ticketed) and the event's registration page will point people to your Classy campaign website to register for your event.

  • Once your Classy campaign is mapped, new registrations will be synced over every 10 minutes. If you would like this to be a lower interval, please reach out to us at support@lennd.com.
